Ferrari 458 Italia
It’s no surprise that the manufacturers who were originally makers of race cars have a vehicle on this list. The 458 Italia tops out at a whopping 201 miles an hour. Already having won over 30 awards including, “Best Performance Engine” and “Best Engine Above 4 Litres” at the International Engine of the Year Awards, this 562 Horse Power V-8 is made for speed. If you can dish out the nearly 300 grand to make one your own, you’ll probably want to stick with tradition and buy it in red.
Bentley Continental GT Speed
Bentley is already a well known name in the luxury auto world, but who knew they were creating this beast to compete against some of the fastest cars on the market. This sleek sports car has everything one would expect from a Bentley; lowered suspension, 21” wheels and a 616 HP twin turbo charged engine. With a top speed of 205 this car is fit for the track.
SRT Viper
What has 640 HP and hisses like snake as it speeds down freeway at 206 mph? If you answered anything other than Viper, you’re missing the point. Since 1991, the Dodge Viper has been one of the most stylish and iconic images in the world of sports cars. Though now part of Chrysler’s SRT performance division, the Viper continues to live up to its reputation of the ideal combination of style and speed. Plus for the low price of $100,000 it’s almost affordable, well, at least in the world of high end sports cars.
Ferrari F12 Berlinetta
There it is again! That, oh so smooth, Italian name that just rolls around in the mouth like crisp champagne. With a top speed of 211 MPH the Berlinetta nearly beats the now discontinued Enzo, Ferrari’s fastest vehicle ever. It’s no surprise the 730 HP, V 12 engine comes in a close second.
Bugatti Veyron Super Sport
The Super Sport flies into first place, beating out its nearest competitor by more than 50 MPH. With a top speed of 268 MPH the 1200 HP engine could play a very real role in blowing your mind, literally. This Volkswagon side project has been one of the fastest cars on the road for a number of years; even winning the prestigious title of car of the decade on BBC’s Top Gear.

Two Ferrari’s in this top 5 of mindblowing cars. The Ferrari 458 is my favourite, because it’s sexy, it’s fun to drive and the sound is amazing. My girlfriend also thinks it’s a sexy car. She only wants it to be silver, though.

Mainstream car companies are jockeying to produce a less expensive sports car that appeals to new car buyers in today’s economy, however there will always be cars produced that push the speed boundaries and car enthusiasts who will open up their bank accounts to buy the best, most ridiculous looking, fastest car out there.
When females hit middle age they get new boyfriends, when males become middle aged they buy a sports car. Unless you are content to live under a rock I don’t care who you are, everyone craves the feel of speed, the elements of danger, adrenaline and the all-eyes-on-me thrill of driving a supersonic beauty. Men love the powerful sensation behind the wheel and women feel the euphoria a fast car provides, after asking what the color options are, of course.

Not sure why the Bentley made the list.. maybe as the fastest FAT car meaning it weights the most but is the fastest heaviest car around. That thing is like a freight train in weight but i guess it is just as fast as one? LOL
